Welcome to class! Today we went over the syllabus (posted under class info). Students were given a parent questionnaire to turn in on Friday. Students also received a questionnaire to complete about themselves with a homework assignment to ask their parents and grandparents (or other older adults) about historical events in their lives (posted below as "history and you" worksheet). This worksheet is due Friday. Students also began an interview of a fellow classmate (posted below as "classmate interview"- just pages 2 and 3).

Bellringer: Respond to the question "What is History?"
Today we took a pre-class quiz to see how familiar students were with people and places in history. We also had a group discussion using quotes about history to determine a definition of history- what it is, how we know about it, and what difference learning history makes.
